SowingSow the Radish, Sunflower and Fried-Eggs in a sunny spot that has been raked well to make a fine surface. The best time to sow is in the spring, when the weather has warmed up and the soil is not sticky. Keep the soil moist until the seedlings are well through. <p>SUNFLOWER: Sow 12mm (½inch) deep spacing the seeds about l5cm (6in) apart. When the seedlings are well through, thin out to one good plant every 45cm (18in). The thinnings can be carefully transplanted to another part of the garden.<p>RADISH: Sow 12mm (¼in) deep in rows lxm (6in) apart. When seedlings are large enough to handle thin out to 3cm (1in) apart. Keep well watered and pull the roots before they get too large. Radish can be sown at 14 day intervals from March to mid August. <p>FRIED EGGS: These are best sown along the edge of a path and like a cool moist soil. Sow thinly 3 mm (1/8in) deep. <p>CRESS: Place 4 layers of kitchen towel on a saucer, wet it and allow surplus water to drain off. Sprinkle the seed thickly and evenly over the towel, place the saucer inside a polythene bag and seal with an elastic band. Leave in a warm dark place about 15C (60F). When the seedlings are about lcm ½in) high place them in a well lit place so that they turn green.
