SowingSow from end of February to April under glass for the best crops. Outdoors sow in a seed bed in March/April thinly 12mm (½in) deep in rows 23cm (9in) apart. If the soil is dry, water well and allow to drain before sowing.GrowingTransplant in late spring/early summer when approx. 15cm (6in) tall, allowing 60-80cm (2-2.5ft) between plants. Plant firmly, the soil should be well limed and in good heart, with plenty of well rotted compost etc., preferably from a previous crop. Before planting rake in 3oz/sq yd of a balanced fertiliser. Water in dry weather.Aftercare When the sprouts start to form, pinch out the growing point to assist development.
